Nowadays, endoscopic examination and treatment are quite popular, and the resulting cross-infection has also been paid more and more attention. In order to avoid cross-infection in an endoscopic examination, give full play to the performance of the instrument, and prolong the service life of the instrument, cleaning, disinfection and careful maintenance of the endoscope are the key.

Here are some tips for endoscope care:

1. After endoscope retrieval

When the endoscope is retrieved, please pay attention to check the appearance, assembly method, and image effect of the repaired mirror the first time, so as to prevent damage to the equipment due to collision, extrusion, etc. during transportation.

2. Wash before use
a. Before cleaning and using the endoscope with a cleaning brush, please give priority to leak detection and confirm whether the pliers' pipeline is smooth, whether the angle knob can bend freely, and whether the electrical contacts and all mirror surfaces are clean and rust-free, so as to ensure the normal operation of the endoscope.
b. To connect the cold light source, turn off the power of the cold light source, dry the light guide plug, and then connect.

3. In medical operation
a. It should be noted that the angle should not be too fast or too sharp, and the angle of the endoscope should not be forcibly turned around.
b. When inflating, it should not be too violent to prevent the curved rubber from bursting.
c. The medical staff needs to take good care of the patient's mouth pad to prevent the mirror body from being bitten.

4. After daily use
a. After the endoscope is used, strict cleaning, disinfection, drying, and leak testing should be carried out in accordance with the requirements of the instruction manual to prolong the service life of the endoscope.
b. After use, it should be cleaned with a cleaning solution immediately, and the channel should be cleaned with a special cleaning brush, and then soaked in the soaking solution. At any time, the soft part of the endoscope should not be held and cleaned together with hard and sharp accessories. When cleaning, please use clean and soft non-woven fabrics to prevent debris from contaminating the mirror body.
c. After the endoscope is cleaned, all pipes should be blown dry, and the lens surface should be wiped clean in the same direction with lens cleaning paper to keep the lens clean and bright.
d. Regularly perform leak testing on the endoscope to prevent water ingress from causing imaging failure of the endoscope.

5. Storing

a. Clean endoscopes should be hung vertically in a clean, dry, well-ventilated, and temperature-friendly place to avoid damage to the lens body due to overcooling or overheating. Open the angle knob lock and fix the tip in a proper position to prevent the lens from being damaged by free swinging.
b. When transporting endoscopes, attention should be paid to the protection of the lens body, and the lens body should not be placed directly in an unprotected environment.
